Brisbane Discus - Shipping Information

Live Fish Shipping Information

Brisbane Discus is highly experienced in air-freighting live fish. All livestock are bagged in quality fish bags with Medical-grade oxygen. They are packed carefully in insulated, Styrofoam boxes which meet Air Safety Requirements.

During cooler and winter months, we use special heat packs to ensure fish have consistent temperature and are comfortable.

We ship with Uber Delivery (NO DOA Coverage), Virgin Australia (Freight Same Day Delivery Service – Airport to Airport with DOA Coverage) and Toll Air Express (Freight Over Night Service – Airport to Airport with DOA Coverage) you will receive a shipment notification via email or text.

Orders are shipped to most major airports or distribution centres.

On receiving your payment from our Invoice, we will advise the airport collection details, AWB, Flight number and ETA.

Notes:

  • You must be available to pick up your delivery from the airport or distribution centres at the specified time.
  • Livestock Shipping to Northern Territory requires a permit and quarantine procedures.
  • If you are unsure if we ship to your area, please contact us to check and obtain a specific quote.

 

Uber Delivery – NO DOA Coverage

This service is for customers within a 1-2hr drive from Brisbane Discus. We will organise a suitable time for delivery with you along with available delivery drivers. Please ensure you are home when you’re expecting the delivery. Uber Delivery can be either ordered by yourself or Brisbane Discus, we will organise what is best with you.

Air Freight via Virgin Air or Toll Air Express – Dead On Arrival (DOA) COVERAGE ON THIS SERVICE ONLY.

This service is same day/next day airline service as freight from Airport to Airport. This is a guaranteed service and will require you to pick up the parcel at the airport. We will arrange suitable time with you on shipment arrival at your closest airport and we provide you with an AWB (Air WayBill) number which you use to collect your fish. DOA replacements ensures replacement fish are free, however, customers are required to pay for shipping costs again as freight is an external 3rd party costs from Brisbane Discus. 

NOTE: Darwin you are required to have the right permit and arrange your own QT officer to check the parcel on arrival and all QT fees are borne by the customer/recipient.

Online orders will be attended to after hours.

 

 

Dry Good Shipping Information

All dry goods are shipped through Australian Post. We offer standard or express options. Tracking notification will be sent you via email though Australia post once item has been shipped.

 

Dead On Arrival (DOA) Coverage

Our Dead On Arrival (DOA) Coverage is only available for Air Freight shipping. If you encounter a DOA on arrive, we ask you to take photos or video of the box it arrive in and photos of the fish in the bag it arrive in. DOA DOES NOT INCLUDE you unbagging the fish and placing it into the tank and fish dying a day later.
DOA fish will be replaced and shipping fee will need to be paid by you as shipping costs is an external third party cost to Brisbane Discus. 

 

Refund Policy   

Brisbane Discus abides by the rules set out by the ACCC and all relevant Australian consumer laws.

DRY GOODS POLICY

We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind.

But you can choose a refund or exchange if an item has a major problem. This is when the item:

  • has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it
  • is unsafe
  • is significantly different from the sample or description
  • doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked or and can’t be easily fixed.

Alternatively, you can choose to keep the item and we will compensate you for any drop in value.

If the problem is not major, we will repair the item within a reasonable time. If it is not repaired in a reasonable time you can choose a refund or replacement.

Please keep your proof of purchase—e.g. your receipt.

 

LIVE FISH POLICY – In Store

Brisbane Discus will only sell livestock that is healthy. However, it is up to the buyer as a walk-in customer to observe and make sure that livestock are healthy before you leave the store

This health policy is designed to cover the critical time of introduction of your new pets.

WE WILL NOT REFUND DISCUS PLEASE CHOOSE CAREFULLY

 

LIVE FISH POLICY – Online Store

BRISBANE DISCUS WILL ALWAYS SEND LIVESTOCK THAT ARE HEALTHY AND FIT FOR TRANSPORT. BY PURCHASING FROM US YOU AS THE BUYER INDEMNIFY BRISBANE DISCUS OF THE SUBSEQUENT LOSS AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE CONSIDERED AFTER 48 HOURS OF DELIVERY.

In an event where there is a Dead-On Arrival – defined as dead while still in the bag (PLEASE SEE DOA PROCEDURES ABOVE)– you are covered via Store Credit of the TOTAL value of the fish. Please consider the strain of your fish. There may be limited numbers of that strain, if there is not of the strain available you will be refunded the full cost of the fish minus the cost of shipping.

Please note that the shipping cost of livestock is non-refundable and that if replacements are to be sent then full payment of the shipping charges needs to occur.

In an event whereby the replacement has losses then NO store credit will apply. This is inherent to the risk of shipping livestock.
